From January to October, the titanium concentrate produced by Anshan Iron and Steel Group Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. exceeded the total output in 2020, setting a new record for the same period in history, and its output scale remained the first in the country.
In 2021, Panzhihua Iron and Steel Mining Co., Ltd., guided by the goal of strengthening and optimizing the mineral resources industry system, and with a spirit of "jumping up and touching high", worked hard to refresh the historical record of titanium concentrate output, laying a solid foundation for achieving annual goals. The company established a titanium selection system technology research team to concentrate its advantages in production, technology, equipment, etc., and carried out a series of research activities such as titanium selection system process flow, parameter optimization, equipment and facility upgrades to ensure the goal of reducing costs, improving quality and stabilizing production. In order to ensure the production of titanium concentrate, the company actively adjusted the mining site, optimized the ore distribution organization, and ensured the grade of titanium concentrate ore; strengthened refined management and improved operating efficiency; supervised and controlled the operation of each production line, quickly corrected production anomalies and coordinated production, and ensured efficient and orderly production; formulated corresponding shift production tracking plans for key production lines, and tracked the completion of production by shift.
As the main production line of titanium concentrate, the Titanium Selection Branch strengthened process optimization, focusing on scientific and technological projects such as "Research on Improving the Recovery Rate of the Whole Process of Titanium Selection and Industrialization" and "Experimental Research on the Beviction of Ilmenite", exploring the optimal process parameters of strong magnetic-flotation to improve the recovery rate of titanium selection; carrying out equipment transformation such as "Large-Scale Research on Strong Magnetic Equipment" and "Optimization of Screening Process Engineering". After the implementation of the project, the titanium recovery rate increased by 3.63 percentage points compared with the same period last year; optimizing the flotation machine maintenance mode, pre-installing the assembly in advance, and optimizing the flotation machine maintenance time from 3 days to 1 day, and the equipment production maintenance capacity has been significantly improved.
Focusing on production bottlenecks, Xinbaima Company has carried out in-depth research on the efficient operation of the Baima titanium selection system, conducted a comprehensive examination of the process, identified unreasonable metal loss points and key points in the process, and formulated solutions; promoted the use of partitioned anti-blocking screens through the first-stage tailings separation room and the secondary inclined plate room re-vibration screen to reduce metal loss in coarse slag separation operations; used "ultrasonic cleaning + online cleaning" to effectively clean strong magnetic media, and improved the first-stage strong magnetic operation yield and other measures to strengthen process management and improve titanium concentrate yield. This year, Xinbaima Company's titanium recovery rate has increased by 0.69 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
With the goal of "process optimization, cost reduction and consumption reduction", Xingmao Company has continued to reduce the grade of strong magnetic and flotation tailings around key processes, optimize the flotation reagent system, etc., added 2 strong magnetic machines, updated 2 stacked screens, etc., and continuously improved the process technology level. It has also carried out "Ultra-fine Grade Ilmenite Recovery Technology Development and Demonstration" and "Inflatable Flotation Machine Backup Production Line Construction" scientific research and has now entered the field experiment stage, providing technical support for the next demonstration line construction. As of October, Xingmao's titanium recovery rate increased by 3.72 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
The company also actively focused on growth targets and seized the outsourcing of titanium concentrate production to release potential and expand scale. This year, the company has implemented full recovery in outsourcing production, changed the way of using waste rock in the dump, and recovered titanium concentrate from particles. From January to October, the total amount of waste rock resources in the dump was 6.9536 million tons, and titanium concentrate was increased by 115,900 tons.
